FSD Dance

FSD Dance – Terms & Conditions

Fees are payable monthly in advance through Class4Kids. No refunds will be issued for classes missed due to student absence.
Late Payment: Fees must be paid by the 1st of each month. If payment remains outstanding for more than seven days, FSD Dance reserves the right to suspend the student's attendance until payment has been received.
Class fees will be reviewed annually.
FSD Dance reserves the right to amend class fees. Parents/carers will be informed of any changes wherever possible before they take effect.

Current Class Fees:

30-minute class – £4.50

45-minute class – £6.50

60-minute class – £7.00

Four weeks' written notice must be given if a student wishes to discontinue their dance classes.
Fees remain payable throughout the four-week notice period, regardless of whether the student attends.
Refunds will not be issued if a student decides to leave during a paid period.

Regular attendance is essential to ensure students progress, develop their skills and participate fully in choreography and performances.
All students are expected to maintain a minimum attendance of 80%.
Parents/carers are asked to inform FSD Dance if their child will be absent, providing a reason where possible.
Attendance at scheduled rehearsals is particularly important for students participating in performances.

Students are expected to arrive on time and be ready to participate at the beginning of their lesson.
Dance is a physical activity that requires an appropriate warm-up to reduce the risk of injury.
Students arriving more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe the lesson if they have missed essential warm-up activities, for health and safety reasons.

Students are expected to present themselves in a tidy and appropriate manner for all classes.
Students are encouraged to purchase the correct FSD Dance uniform following their trial period. Uniform requirements can be found on our website.
FSD Dance uniform consists of an FSD Dance T-shirt and black bottoms, unless otherwise specified for particular dance styles.
Hair must be tied back securely and appropriate footwear must be worn.
FSD Dance cannot accept responsibility for any personal belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen. Any items found will be kept in lost property.

Students are expected to behave respectfully and politely towards teachers, assistants and fellow dancers.
Students must listen carefully to instructions and avoid unnecessary talking or disruption during lessons.
Any student displaying disruptive behaviour may be asked to sit out or leave the lesson where appropriate, with their parent/carer informed.
Bullying, abusive language, aggression or unacceptable behaviour from students, parents or carers will not be tolerated.
Serious or repeated unacceptable behaviour may result in a student being excluded from classes, events or performances.
FSD Dance reserves the right to refuse access to parents/carers or family members who demonstrate inappropriate, threatening or abusive behaviour towards staff, students or other families.

FSD Dance recognises that every child has the right to learn and participate in a safe, positive and supportive environment, free from bullying.
All allegations of bullying will be taken seriously and dealt with appropriately.
We are committed to working with students and parents/carers to prevent bullying and promote kindness, respect and inclusion.
Any concerns regarding bullying should be reported to a member of the FSD Dance teaching team.

Students are not permitted to use mobile phones during lessons. Phones must remain switched off or stored away throughout class.
Photography or video recording during lessons is prohibited without prior permission from FSD Dance.
Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring their children arrive safely and are collected promptly at the end of their lesson.
Children under the age of 11 must be collected by a parent/carer or authorised adult.
Students under the age of 16 wishing to leave the premises independently must have prior written permission from their parent/carer.
Parents/carers are not permitted to enter the teaching area during lessons unless invited by a member of staff.
For safeguarding purposes, external doors will be secured during lessons. Parents/carers must follow the arrival and collection procedures in place at each venue.
Parents/carers must ensure that all medical information and emergency contact details are accurate and kept up to date through Class4Kids.
Parents/carers must inform FSD Dance of any illness, injury or medical condition that may affect their child's participation.
Parents/carers are responsible for regularly checking emails, Class4Kids and FSD Dance social media channels for important information regarding classes, rehearsals and events.
FSD Dance reserves the right to refuse entry to any individual displaying inappropriate, threatening, violent or abusive behaviour towards staff, students or other parents/carers.

FSD Dance takes its responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of all students, teachers, assistants and volunteers seriously.
Appropriate health and safety procedures are followed to provide a safe learning environment.
Risk assessments are carried out for venues and activities, and any concerns regarding hired premises will be raised with the relevant providers.
Dance is a physical activity and, although every effort is made to minimise risks, injuries can occasionally occur.
FSD Dance will take reasonable care to protect students from foreseeable risks. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
All accidents and incidents will be appropriately recorded and logged.
Parents/carers must inform teachers of any injuries or medical conditions that may affect their child's ability to participate safely.

Photography and filming by parents/carers or students during lessons is strictly prohibited without prior permission from FSD Dance.
FSD Dance may take photographs and video recordings during classes, rehearsals, performances and events for promotional purposes.
These images may be used on the FSD Dance website, social media platforms, promotional materials and printed publications.
Parents/carers will be asked to provide or decline photography and video consent when registering through Class4Kids.
FSD Dance will respect the photography and video permissions provided by parents/carers.
Photography consent may be withdrawn by contacting FSD Dance. Any withdrawal will apply to future use, and we will take reasonable steps regarding previously published material where appropriate.

Participation in dance classes, rehearsals, workshops and performances involves a degree of physical activity and associated risk.
All FSD Dance teachers hold appropriate qualifications, DBS checks and insurance relevant to their roles.
Due to the nature of dance training, teachers may occasionally need to provide appropriate physical guidance to correct posture, alignment or technique.
Any physical corrections will be carried out professionally, respectfully and with consideration for the student's comfort, safety and wellbeing.
FSD Dance reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions when necessary. Parents/carers will be informed of any significant changes.
